# Live notifications

Live notifications are what Fincanva tells you about the strategies you [follow Live](/glossary/mark-live): a rotation, a switch to Risk-Off or back to Risk-On, a calculation that failed, and a [strategy](/glossary/strategy) your plan switched off Live. They arrive in the app's bell and by email, and one switch per notification and channel covers all your Live strategies.

**Also seen as:** strategy notifications, rotation alerts, Risk-Off alerts

## How does Fincanva handle it?

Fincanva tells you only about strategies you follow Live: opening a strategy that is not Live never notifies anyone. Each notification is about one strategy. The list gives each one's row name in **Settings → Notifications**, and the bell's name where it differs:

- **Rotation** — the day a [Live strategy](/glossary/live-strategy)'s positions change: what comes in, what goes out and what is resized. The orders are for the next trading day, and the [order plan](/glossary/order-plan) lists them.
- **Regime change** — a Live strategy switches to Risk-Off or goes back to Risk-On ([Risk-On / Risk-Off](/glossary/risk-on-and-risk-off)). When the switch also changes what the strategy holds, a **Rotation** arrives as well.
- **Calculation failed** — a Live strategy's calculation of the day failed (in the bell, **Run failed**), or was still not ready in the morning (**Run not ready yet**). Each case is told at most once a day.
- **Live switched off by the plan** (in the bell, **Live switched off by your plan**) — a strategy leaves Live because your plan no longer covers it; [Choose which strategies stay Live](/docs/live/choose-which-strategies-stay-live) explains why that happens.

Each of the four has an **App** switch and an **Email** switch in **Settings → Notifications**, and each switch applies to every strategy you follow Live — there is no switch for a single strategy. [How to manage your notification settings](/docs/account-and-plan/how-to-manage-your-notification-settings) covers the switches and when the emails arrive.

Live notifications come with Live: every plan that can follow a strategy Live has them, with no limit of their own — [what each plan includes](/docs/account-and-plan/what-each-plan-includes).

## What does it look like in practice?

Say you follow three strategies Live. On the same day two of them rotate and the third switches to Risk-Off without changing what it holds. The bell shows three notifications: a **Rotation** for each of the first two, a **Regime change** for the third. With their Email switches on, you get two emails: one listing both strategies that rotated, and one for the switch to Risk-Off.

## Does a Live notification place any order?

No. A Live strategy is monitoring only, so a **Rotation** tells you what the strategy's rules would now hold; Fincanva places no order and moves no money. Acting on it, with your own broker, is your decision.
