How to manage your notification settings

Which emails Fincanva sends you is set on one page: open Settings, then Notifications. It holds three sections, from top to bottom: Where they arrive — the email address notifications go to, which is the one on your profile; Your choice — two kinds of email you switch on or off, Your strategies and Fincanva news; and Always on — the emails that protect your account or concern your trial, which cannot be switched off.

Before you start

You need to be signed in. Notifications arrive only by email, at your profile's address; there is no other channel to set up.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Notifications.
  2. Under Your choice, switch Your strategies or Fincanva news on or off. Each switch applies at once — there is no Save button.
  3. To change the address they arrive at, select Change in Profile under Where they arrive.

What you should see

The Notifications page, with Where they arrive, Your choice and Always on from top to bottom. When you flip a switch, a message names what was saved — Strategy notifications saved or Product news notifications saved. The settings Overview reflects the same two choices on its Notifications tile, as On or Off.

Where do my notifications arrive?

At the email address on your profile. Where they arrive reads "Notifications arrive by email today. It's the address on your profile." and shows that address under Email. It cannot be edited here: Change in Profile takes you to Settings → Profile, where a new address is confirmed through a link sent to your current one. Once it changes, notifications follow it.

What can I switch on or off?

Two kinds of email, under Your choice, each with its own switch that applies the moment you flip it:

  • Your strategies — "Alerts about the strategies you created or follow live." It is on for a new account.
  • Fincanva news — "New features and guides. They only arrive if you turn them on." It is off for a new account, because it is marketing and Fincanva sends it only with your consent. An account moved over from Fincanva's previous platform starts with it on only if that account had accepted marketing emails there.

Today Fincanva sends no email in either category, so a switch records your choice and changes nothing you receive today. Either can be switched back whenever you like.

Why can't I turn some notifications off?

Because they protect your account or concern your subscription. Always on lists two kinds, each marked Always on in place of a switch:

  • Access and security — "Sign-in codes, email verification, password and email changes, account deletion." These are the emails that let you sign in, confirm a change, and learn that a deletion was scheduled or completed — see account deletion.
  • Subscription and payments — "Trial-ending reminders." That is the one email Fincanva itself sends about your subscription: the reminder 7 days and 1 day before a trial ends with no card on file — see the 30-day trial.

They are shown rather than hidden so you know they exist and why they keep arriving.

Common problems

"Couldn't save the strategy notifications. Try again."

The switch could not be saved, and it has gone back to what it was before — nothing changed. Flip it again. The same applies to "Couldn't save the product news notifications. Try again." for Fincanva news.

I still get emails after turning everything off

The emails that keep arriving are the ones under Always on — sign-in codes, verification and change confirmations, account-deletion notices and trial-ending reminders. They cannot be switched off, because each one either protects access to your account or concerns your subscription.
